If I had a voice, I would speak.
I'd try to live and practice what I want to preach.
But if I sit and wait until the final score,
Is this what I want to be remembered for?
If I had a heart, I would feel
I might even start to see the wrong in me
But if I brush it off and close all the doors
Is this what I want to be remembered for?
If we poured our time to making change
And break the spell of selfishness and rage
If We don't accept our sins from before
Is this what We want to be remembered for?
If we respected elders and the weak
And build upon the work they've done for years
If we dismiss their voice because they're old
Is this what they want to be remembered for?
If a thousand miles of pipe was laid,
Would it satisfy the cost it tried to pay?
But if our goal was to build a better world,
Is this what we want to be remembered for?
If We could afford to lend a hand,
To serve more than just supply and demand.
If our children had a future full of hope
This is what we ought to be remembered for.
